I didn’t do much today, though i was feeling slightly better, and the sleeping pill i had taken two days ago had for the most part, worn off, thank god! I hate feeling like a spaced out zombie. I’m not sure if it’s because that was the first time i’ve ever taken that particular medicine (restavit) for insomnia, or just the way my body reacts to it. Anyway, in future i will only take a half or even a quarter of a tablet just for safe measure, and definitely not if i have anything planned a couple of days ahead in time.
I downloaded “40 year old virgin” from the iTunes store today. It cost $3.99 to rent for 48 hours or 30 days, whichever ends first. When the movie first came out i pretty much decided it was a movie i would never see because i don’t really like Steve Carell. I’d seen him in The Office, and my sense of humour just didn’t get it, so i wrote him off as the star of a movie i would like to see.
However, when i was browsing around the iTunes store, that movie kept coming up as a new release rental, and after reading the plot, which sounded quite funny, i decided to take the plunge and rent it. After all, if i didn’t like it, after 48 hours it would delete itself from my view.
I didn’t realise it would take so long to download. It took me two hours. Whether or not that’s my connection or not, i thought downloading such a small movie for a small device wouldn’t take more than about 10 minutes, i don’t know. We have broadband adsl which is usually very fast. Anyways, i downloaded it and watched it straight away, it was quite funny, in a geeky kind of way. I actually enjoyed it. When Yasu came home from work tonight i asked if he wanted to watch the movie with me. We got dinner over and done with, got our cheesecake yoghurt and settled into bed with an earphone each and watched the movie snuggled up under the covers. Yasu laughed at the same things i did, so that makes me feel better. I thought it must have been all those cold and flu pills that were making me laugh at stupid things.
I really felt for the guy and the predicament he was in. It seems like it’s a big thing with guys to be a virgin, my friends and i never even talk about it, so i can’t really say i know of anyone who is in the same situation. Though the thing that gelled with me was that when you’re not “doing it” everyone is talking about sex, when you are “doing it” you realise it’s not that big of a deal. Haha. :)
Well maybe to me anyway.
After that Yasu went to bed and i’m up typing away…having a look on iTunes to see what movie i can rent next. I was looking for “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” with Brendan Fraser, but it seems it’s not been released on iTunes yet. Maybe i’ll download some tv shows.
I’m wondering if there is any online store that sells movies/tv shows that can be watched on ipod touch without buying through iTunes, as the iTunes store does not have very much variety at the moment. Guess i’ll have to do some googling.
Night all :)

I really wanted to see The 40 Year-Old Virgin when it came out, but it didn’t play in my local theatre. We rented it from a DVD store and when we watched it we laughed all the way through.
I really liked it and thought they did most of the movie well.
I can’t help you with the downloading thing, sorry.

Haha thanks, i’m glad someone else out there also thought it was funny. I usually have a hard time getting American humour, but this one was not like that.
That’s cool about the downloading thing, i had a look around but couldn’t really find anything similar and i don’t want to take a risk with a company i don’t know, i don’t want a virus, so i’ll stick it out with itunes i think. Better to be safe than sorry :)
I did find a new thing they have which is video podcasts, quite a few interesting made for internet tv shows and stuff. And i downloaded a DJ Ozma music video. I didn’t realise his music was so listen-able. I only remember him from Kohaku that one time when the women appeared to be naked, it was that more than the music that was memorable.
