This is a little bit late but I decided to post about it because I had such a good day.
In the morning I got up about 8:30 had a shower and we went and did the week’s grocery shopping before coming home, changing and going out to a baseball superstore about 30 minutes away by car.
I had asked Yasu what he wanted for Valentine’s day as we usually buy something for each other but usually we both have something we want so we buy each other that.
I was planning on buying Yasu a double Super Eurobeat cd that he wanted but couldn’t get when we were in Japan (because for some reason cd’s are out of fashion in Obihiro). I had asked him a couple of times and both times he forgot and then when I looked on cdjapan they had sold out.
So Yasu decided that he wanted a new undershirt for baseball as the one he is wearing is 2 years old. I suggested one of the new skin-tight compression types and he tried a few on but he didn’t like the feeling, so we left the shop as they didn’t have any other kinds.
We went to a shopping complex and happened to look in Big W and I found some of the same kind of tops made by Slazenger but they are black. Yasu was worried that black wouldn’t go with his uniform (red and gray) but I convinced him that black goes with anything. So I ended up buying one for him and he wore it to his game on Sunday.
The top enhanced his pitching performance so much, this week he is going back to buy the pants! It also really helps the muscles because they don’t move too much in the compression and it helps his Pitcher’s Elbow problem.
So yay, the present turned out to be a good one. As the season ends on 28th Feb, there is no point not giving the shirt to him now so that’s what I have done. I will still get him a card and maybe a surprise choccy for V day though.
As for me, when Yasu asked me what I wanted for V day I said “romance”. So lets see what happens with that.
Anyway, after we bought the compression shirt, I took him to Miss Maud’s for a treat. He had Princess cake (a traditional Swedish dessert) and a Chai latte, and I had Princess cake and an Ice chocolate with icecream and cream (yeah I know…diet down the drain!)
Afterwards we strolled around and had a look into a few new shops we hadn’t been in before. We also bought some new knives, the ones I have now are 3 years old in a wood block and they are hopeless. So I got 2 really good ones and a knife sharpener, because when it comes down to it, I really only use a good strong chopping knife for meat and vegetables and a paring knife for fruit and smaller veggies, so I don’t need a whole array of knives.
Then we came home, I cooked dinner (chicken patties) and we watched Nanny McPhee. I’ve seen it before but we were channel surfing and it was on. Yasu didn’t like it very much so we changed over to Iron Chef and watched Masaharu Morimoto beat the challenger for the second time. Yay!
The theme was Natto but the way Morimoto cooked it was American style. He made a Natto dessert with Coca Cola which looked soooo yum!
Anyways so that was my date. It was nice spending time together, we didn’t have to rush around or rush home for anything, and we got to enjoy each other’s company.
