I’m having a bit of a blank today. So I thought I would borrow Kel’s idea and do a photo blogging day, except today is Friday and there are words.  :)

I’m going to share some photo’s I came across yesterday while I was cleaning. They’re all really random. :)

It’s so ironic that I should find this photo now. haha. This is at Yasu’s Grandma’s house in Aomori. There are photo’s like the one on the left-hand side all around the top of the room. She has another place, I don’t know what you call it, but it’s on a low table with incense and she usually puts a bowl of rice and a nice juicy apple there for her husband who’s passed.

Can anyone guess where this is? Noboribetsu station! That is Gonta the bear there with Yasu. We had to wait there for an hour and a half for a connecting train and were planning on going to Jigoku-Dani but we didn’t think we had enough time so we spent most of the time loitering in the station with Gonta.

Yasu looking very Japanese at a ryokan we stayed at in Shiraoi.

At the Ainu Kotan (village) in Shiraoi. We got to try on their costumes, eat their food and learn their dancing. It was really interesting and we both enjoyed it.

This photo was taken at my university ball.

Yasu was getting drunk by this stage and needed me to hold him up.

C’mon baby gimme a kish… “Noooo”

My mother in law in her teeny-tiny kitchen. I honestly don’t know how she can cook anything in that small space, but she does, and it all tastes wonderful. :)

This was the love hotel we stayed at in Obihiro. Isn’t it the most hideous thing you’ve ever seen? The bed-head was one of those ones from the 60’s with the radio built in!! The only good thing it had going for it was it had a sauna inside at the opposite end. When I said lets go to a love hotel I had Hello Kitty in mind…not 1960’s retro ugly.  :)
