Ups n’ Downs

Despite our ups and downs during the week, we managed to spend 2 whole days on the weekend out enjoying ourselves, I guess you could say reconnecting and reaquainting ourselves.

I was just so sick of what our marriage had become. I got sick of him coming home, scarfing down dinner then going on the pc all night and leaving me to watch tv or spend time alone when I’d looked forward all day to seeing him. It’s not just started now, it’s been happening for months. That’s not the whole problem but I won’t go into the other stuff out in the open on my blog. Just to say that it’s one part of the problem and it’s hurtful. I can be alone and miserable if I’m single, I don’t need to be married to feel that way.

Basically, I’m not the type to sit on it and sulk about it. I like to tell him what the problem is and get it out there. It is confrontational to him I suppose because in his culture you don’t do that, but if you’re ever going to fix anything, beating around the bush just won’t help, it will make things worse.

When I told him everything I was thinking and feeling, his first reaction was to close down and give me the silent treatment for a week. That just shut me out even more, and got to the point of me packing my bags on Friday morning.

He ended up coming home early from work and we decided to take the car to the mechanic but on the way the car broke down in a rural area full of farms with sheep and cows so that while we were waiting to get picked up by the mechanic we were forced to talk about our problems.

Like I said in my previous post, we are still working through the kinks in our relationship and it’s a slow process, but it helps that he at least recognised we do have a problem and he is trying to rectify it. He did make time for me on the weekend, at last. It felt good to be part of a whole again instead of one half of lonely.

Australia's National Emblem - Golden Wattle

I just love these flowers, I think they are so pretty

Bottle Brush

I've been told these are Jasmine. I love the green and brown effect on the leaves, it's so striking.

This is an very alien looking species of gumnut. To me it kind of looks like a fig.

Pretty white flowers, the bees seemed to like them a lot, not sure what they are called.

This little guy has been hanging around on our patio blinds for the past week. (please excuse the cobwebs in the background!)

My lunch - Chinese combination

Yasu's Lunch - Fried chicken with chips and salad

Pioneer Park at Gosnells

These geese were fighting the whole time we were there...sign? lol

Yasu contemplating stuff... or is that falling asleep after that big chocolate eclair he ate

Duckies :)

These are just a few of the pics, the rest are on my facebook photo’s.

I Can See Your Halo

Today around 1pm a friend on facebook urged me to go outside and look at the sun because she said there was a halo around it. So I dutifully obliged but as I didn’t want to burn my eyes I took my digital camera out and took some photo’s. Read more
