* ★¨`*Fun* ★¨`*

We had a really good day today! Well, it didn’t turn out as expected but way better, in fact.

We had planned a lunch party but just before the weekend most of the people cancelled! We decided to have just one couple over – Aussie guy J/Japanese girl M and in the end they brought two other Japanese girls with them (K and Y) so it was really good. K was from Sapporo, so it was cool to meet someone from our end of Japan.. haha… most people I come into contact with are from 3 places: Osaka, Tokyo, and Saitama. In fact Y was from Saitama too! Maybe everyone is leaving Saitama and going overseas..

Anyway, it turned out that J’s mum and dad are big hippies and used to own a spiritual shop, and his fiance is also into spiritual stuff and wants to learn Tarot. The two other Japanese girls are really into spiritual stuff too so we mostly talked about that and ghost tours and stuff all day which was fun. After lunch they asked me if I could give them a reading, so I got out my angel and fairy cards and also my tarot cards. It was so much fun, really interesting too!

Yasu played a good host and was filling up everyone’s drinks, and he ended up getting really drunk, I think he had like 11 beers or something… Sapporo beer. haha…everyone else was drinking Canadian Club whisky and I was drinking soy milk! (because of my ulcer..)

Anyway, the amount of people was just right, it was good for talking and because we all had the same interests and stuff the time went so quickly! Next thing we know it’s 6pm and they had to go coz the aussie guy had to go to work. I was kinda sad…but we promised to get together again. I made some little gift bags with Japanese snacks for the girls to take home and they were pretty chuffed, kept exclaiming “kawaii” over everything haha, so I’m happy.

Oh, we also had a Jamaican chocolate cheesecake for dessert – it was sooo yum! but very rich… today was definitely therapy for the soul!

Oh yeah and J’s mum is going to run psychic parties and he asked me to do tarot readings at the parties… so that’s kinda cool! I think it would be a lot of fun! :)

So, a very satisfying day. This post is kind of all over the place, I know, so it’s probably hard reading, but I just feel so happy today. It’s so good when you meet like-minded people…and to top it off, I never meet Japanese people interested in spiritual stuff so that was a bonus as well.

:o)

Christmas Party

Yesterday I went to my teacher’s Christmas party. It was pretty good and really great to be there with a bunch of other kindred spirits. Lots of great food – everyone brought a plate – I took rocky road that I had made. Read more

Sunday

We had a party for our Japanese friends on Sunday. There were 3 Japanese ladies and 3 Aussie guys (partners) that came.

All the ladies brought sweets, mitarashi dango, an nin dofu, and cheesecake that were delightful! So yum!

The mitarashi dango and an nin dofu were home made and they tasted great.

Yasu made his famous karaage chicken, and chahan. I made gyoza, a salad, and some devilled eggs.
It was all very popular, and we had a great time and a laugh, and even watched some sumo.

Here are some pics of the sweets. :)

I drank too much chuhai, and felt really hungover this morning. So that’ll teach me! I don’t usually drink anymore than half a can of alcohol, and I had 2 cans and one bottle of Midori as well! Oh my.

Anyway, it was a great weekend and I enjoyed myself. At least I lost all the stress.
