疲れたのに嬉しい

I’ve been quite sick the last week and on the weekend but I’m not going into it too much other to say than I have really been going through some tough times with my health and on saturday night I thought it might have been the end of me.

I’m now much better than I was though, thanks to Yasu’s care and support. He has been up at night with me when waste was coming from both orifices, helped me clean myself up at times when I looked and felt like hell and we have both emerged at the end of it. I don’t even have my indigestion any more, (touch wood), my body seems to have balanced itself out, I don’t have issues with eating meat or anything, and feeling totally fine once again. Thanks Yasu for being such a nice husband.

In spite of all that was going on over the weekend we had pre-planned a lunch at our house with another couple the week before, and I didn’t feel like cancelling it, and surprise surprise my body actually behaved itself while we had company. (After is another story though!)

We had a Japanese-Czech couple over for lunch, the wife is Japanese and the husband is Czech. They decided to live here as it’s a neutral place for both of them. They are both studying and working, quite hard to do, but their positivity about it all shines through. Neither of them speak each other’s language so they only converse in English – a second language for both of them.

It was a pleasure to have them over and we talked and ate a lot of yummy food. Time flew, and they ended up staying to watch the Sumo review on TV, which was the husband’s first time ever to see Sumo and we were all remarking how the European Sumo wrestlers have such hairy chests… haha :)

Tonight is my last Tarot class..I’m looking forward to it but sad it’s going to end. Though I do intend to do the 2nd and 3rd levels when I get the money. I’m doing her herbal workshop this weekend, so looking forward to that. :)

I’ll leave you with last night’s dessert. Was yum :) (food again…can’t help myself!)

Feeling Blessed

Everything is going very well for me at the moment and I’m just feeling really blessed by it all. :)

I also had another epiphany about weight loss – I was still eating too late.

When I first started this lifestyle change I was eating dinner at around 5pm but as Yasu started coming home later and later, I waited to eat dinner with him no matter what the time, because that’s what I have done ever since we got married – despite him telling me to eat when I want – I just never feel full when I eat by myself,  a total mental thing on my behalf.

Anyway, the last two nights I have eaten dinner at 5pm and now have dropped another 400 grams, to 4kg weight loss. So I feel as if I’ve got the flow going again. It’s all a big learning curve about my body. :)

Having a good day today. Went for a drive with Yasu earlier to his workshop and drove past the beach – the water was too cold for a swim. Then we came home and had lunch and we pottered around in the garden for a while and now Yasu is watching the Sumo on tv. :)

A Better Day

Today I woke up feeling better about myself, actually roused myself to get out of bed at 11:30 am so that’s doing far better time-wise.

I got up, did the dishes and sat out on the patio reading a book for a while. Yasu came home at 4:30 and we watched Sumo for a while. His favourite is watching Yamamotoyama, ugh, he is just so big, all he needs to do is push the other wrestler and he falls out of the ring, and Y gets another victory under his belt. At that weight/size you need do no fancy moves to win. I’m only surprised he’s not a Yokozuna by now.

Anyway, about 5pm we left to go out and do some grocery shopping. We stopped into Jeanswest (a jeans store) and bought a shirt for Yasu, quite nice and it was on special too. Then we went and did some grocery shopping, and stopped in at my friends cafe.

She is currently having staff problems, and because I used to work there, she asked me to come back and work for her on Thursday nights and Saturdays which I agreed to. As I’ve written before I sometimes just go and work there to help because I like it, for fun. This is actually a paying gig, but I would work for free just because I love it. :)

She asked me if I felt like hitting the gym tomorrow morning and I agreed to that too. She was sad because I had been depressed and didn’t let her know…she wanted to help me. Nice of her but I just felt like sticking around. I’m sure the exercise will be good for my brain as well as my body. I have to go shopping after and buy some Easter eggs for Yasu. They’re currently 20% off and I want to get some while they’re still on special, that he doesn’t know about. We already bought eggs for our friends and family tonight, so at least that’s out of the way! I can’t believe how expensive easter eggs are this year. I guess it’s a sign of the times. Chocolate will no longer be an every day item, it will be relagated to the luxury purchases.

Not that I care, I’m happy eating my home made rocky road. :)

I also lost another 1 kg, so that’s great! Tonight at the shops I got compliments galore from people I bumped into so that’s a bit of a boost too. There’s also a rather horny hubby who can’t keep his hands off me. That’s only a few kilo’s down. Can’t imagine what it will be like when I have my Jennifer Hawkins body!

I’m reading a really good book at the moment called “Passing For Thin – Losing half my weight and finding myself” by Frances Kuffel. It is really an interesting read, and I found alot of her feelings I totally identify with. It’s amazing how non-fat people make you feel so low just for not looking like them. I’m really getting some inspiration from this woman’s journey, she’s amazing.

Well, I better call it a night. I’m keeping up with my blogging lately, must be I have more to say lately.

Night all :)

Australia Day Weekend

Due to the Australia Day national holiday on Monday 26th this weekend was a long weekend. We made the most of it.

Saturday was a lazy day for the most part. Sunday we got up late, even Yasu slept in until 9am, which was a miracle as he usually can only sleep in til 7am, so he must have been very tired.

At 10am i made pancakes with butter and real maple syrup from Canada for breakfast. They were yum!

At 3pm we left home and went off to see a movie i had won tickets for. The movie – Before The Rains is set in India in 1937 and the official blurb says “An idealistic young Indian man (Rahul Bose) finds himself torn between his ambitions for the future and his loyalty to the past when people in his village learn of an affair between his British boss (Linus Roache) and a village woman (Nandita Das).

It was a small independant movie theatre where it was shown, and most of the people were over 50, but we didn’t mind. At least there was no rowdy kids throwing popcorn etc.

Afterwards we went to Shimizu Grand Japanese Buffet, and Yasu went to heaven with the sashimi bar. I was in my own personal heaven with the karaage, gyoza, and Japanese potato salad. They also had yummy chahan, zaru soba, norimaki, takuan (my favourite!), and sushi, plus chawan mushi, Japanese salad, and bancha. For dessert we had melon, jelly, and an assortment of small cake squares about 2cm diameter, great for a taste.

It was nice to spend some time together just talking, we haven’t done so in a while. Sometimes with the blur of life, i really miss the intelligent conversations that we can have over dinner, rather than casual chit chat. I think we both enjoyed our time.

We then came home and watched the Sumo final that Yasu had recorded. Unfortunately he had recorded it in English by accident and we were forced to listen to the less than fluent in English translators running commentary which ended up giving me a headache. I knew Hakuho would win, but was surprised when he lost the second round with Asashoryuu. Oh well, there’s always next time!

After that Yasu watched Tenchijiin and i went into the bedroom and read a book. We called it a night soon after.

Monday was another lazy day, but in the afternoon our friend Jo called and asked if we wanted to go down the park and watch the Australia Day fireworks. We ended up going to KFC first for a less than healthy dinner, and the eldest son (4) had a major tantrum and screamed for 5 minutes straight. He’s at the age where he’s jealous of his younger 2 year old brother, and fights for attention.

After all that we made our way down to the park and found a spot. The 2 year old wouldn’t let go of me, and when we went for a walk he stuck to me like glue. He’s such a cutie. When the fireworks came on, the 2 year old and 4 year old started crying. The 2 year old could stand the noise but not the sight of the fireworks, and the 4 year old couldn’t stand the noise, but could watch it. Luckily his dad had brought a pair of earmuffs so he put them on and watched. I’ve never seen this reaction before. I watched fireworks even when i was in a pram without incident. :)

After that we made our way home and went to bed shortly after. In all, it was a nice weekend, that we thoroughly enjoyed.
