The last few days have been really yucky for me, and I didn’t know why.
All of a sudden I started getting sick, I felt nauseated, I had headaches, I was tired, I had such bad pains in my stomach, and I couldn’t go anwhere without holding onto a bucket.
From last week all the water coming out of the taps in our house smells like rotten eggs. At first I didn’t think anything of it, and then I mentioned it to my mum who thought it wasn’t normal.
Then on the weekend, when I drank the water, even though we have a water filter that it goes through I immediately felt nauseated and sick. Saturday night was epic in that I was screaming in pain clutching my stomach and Yasu was trying to get me to go to the hospital and I was refusing (I know the usual rigmarole that hospitals put me through, I’m not going there willingly).
Finally I called the water corporation today and they immediately sat up and took notice when I said what had been happening. The consultant told me that it is a fault and what we had been drinking is waste water (as in toilet water) all this time. She said she would send someone out to fix it immediately as we are not meant to be using it, and somehow they must have been doing work in the area and connected the wrong pipes.
What pissed me off majorly was they never asked if I’m ok, or said sorry or anything. So yeah, after Saturday I decided that I wasn’t going to drink anymore of our water and I’ve been ok. I have got a bad rash though from showering in the water. :(
